Description

No. 26 High Street is a former house that has been converted into a shop, with the upper floors currently unused. It dates from the early to mid 18th century and is constructed of painted brick with a Kent clay tile roof. The building stands three storeys tall and features a two-window range. It has a parapet topped with a moulded brick cornice. The windows are fitted with moulded flush box frames and are set under flat rubbed brick arches. The sashes are hornless, with the second floor windows having glazing bars in a 12-pane configuration. The shop front is from the 20th century, and there are damaged cast-iron rainwater goods present.
