Description

28 High Street is a former house that has been converted into a shop, with the upper floors currently unused. The building dates from the late 18th century and likely incorporates some earlier work. It is constructed of painted brick and features a Kent clay tile roof that is hipped towards the street, complete with a dormer. The left side of the building is weatherboarded. The structure stands three stories tall and has a two-window range. It has a parapet with a string-course, and all windows are adorned with flat brick arches, stone sills, and hornless sashes. The shop front is a 20th-century plate-glass design, while the half-glazed door may be from an earlier period.
