Description
The Rochester Bar is a former house that has been converted into a public bar on the ground floor. It dates from around 1800 and is constructed of dark red brick with fine pointing, featuring a renewed parapet. The building stands at 3½ storeys tall and has a two-window range. It includes hornless sash windows throughout, with 16 panes on the first and second floors and 12 panes on the upper half storey, all set under flat rubbed brick arches. The contemporary rainwater goods are located between Nos 18 and 20. The ground floor was completely remodelled in the late 20th century, and the right-hand end stack has been rebuilt. At the rear, there are two 12-pane hornless sash windows on the upper half storey only.
