Description

This is an early 19th-century house with a shop, although it shows evidence of earlier work, possibly from the early 18th century. The front is constructed of brown brick and features a parapet with a string course. The roof is corrugated iron, hipped towards the street. The first and second floor windows are 12-pane hornless sashes, while the upper half-storey windows are 6-pane sashes, all set within flat brick arches. Around 1900, a shop front was installed, characterised by slender posts and a deeply recessed central doorway, with a shaped plateglass window. The lobby contains a mosaic floor and decorative plaster ceiling. Some early 18th-century panelling is visible inside.
