Description
No. 104 High Street is a former house, now a shop, dating from around 1800, possibly incorporating earlier elements. The building is constructed of brick and features a Kent-tile roof that runs parallel to the street, complete with a dormer. It stands three storeys tall and has a painted front with a regular two-window arrangement. The parapet includes a depressed panel, stone coping, and a cornice band. The upper floors are fitted with 12-pane hornless sash windows set in reveals beneath flat brick arches. The shop front, added in the late 20th century, is made of plate glass. Inside, there are several notable contemporary fittings, including window surrounds that are moulded on the first floor and reeded on the second, doorcases, and deeply moulded cornices, with H-hinges on the attic door. The cellar is lined with brick and has a flagstone floor.
