Description
Boley Hill House, originally listed as Nos 1 and 2, and Boley House, is a house that has been converted into a nursing home since 1988. It was built in the early 19th century and features a stuccoed brick exterior with a roof that is not visible. The building has a double-depth plan with a central staircase and stands two storeys tall. The front is symmetrical with five windows, a parapet, and 12-pane sash windows throughout. There is a plat band between the floors and a central porch supported by Tuscan columns and pilasters, topped with a moulded entablature. The porch is accessed by steps with ashlar walls and low piers, leading to a half-glazed door with a rectangular overlight that contains leaded coloured glass. The house has lateral and rear stacks, and there is a single-storey extension to the right that includes a 20th-century bay. The left-hand return features horned sash windows that still retain their blind housings. Inside, there is a curved open-well staircase with stick balusters and a weathered rail. The conservatory on the left has been significantly altered, and there are 20th-century workshop buildings at the rear.
