Description

The Coopers Arms is a public house located on Rochester Street in St. Margaret, dating from the 17th century or earlier, with alterations made in the 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries. The building is timber-framed, with weatherboarded end walls and a plastered front, topped by a Kent-tile gable-end roof. It has a double-depth plan formed by two parallel ranges, along with a single-storey rear wing that faces Love Lane. The structure has two storeys and an attic.

The front features a two-window range with a jettied first floor. Both floors have 16-pane sash windows, with the two on the ground floor being horned. There is a central half-glazed door and another door located at the extreme left. The roof has sprocketed eaves. The left side of the building includes a large brick stack for the rear range and a lateral stack for the rear wing, which also contains three sash windows. The interior has not been fully inspected.
