Description

The Queen's Alcove is a Grade II listed structure located on Whippingham Road in East Cowes, built in 1869. This semi-circular roofed alcove is positioned on the beach, facing the sea. It features a cemented exterior and a wooden roof with bracketed eaves. The alcove is topped with a half-dome that is lined with blue tiles. Inside, there is a mosaic floor and a wooden seat that is supported by cast iron dolphins.
