Description
The North Shelter in Saltwell Park is a Grade II listed structure built in 1887, originally removed from Town Moor in Newcastle. This octagonal shelter features two open front bays, with the flanking bays being half-walled. It has a frame made of rough rustic posts and braces supporting a conical roof topped with an octagonal drum and a pointed cupola. The walls are decorated with half branches arranged in geometric patterns, with open-work detailing on the drum.
