Description

The Statue of Alderman John Lucas, located on East Park Road, was created in 1903 by G W Stevenson. This lively and naturalistic life-size bronze figure depicts Alderman John Lucas in his ceremonial robes, standing on a rusticated sandstone pedestal. The pedestal is inscribed with "ALDERMAN JOHN LUCAS 1837-1900 ERECTED BY PUBLIC SUBSCRIPTION 1903" and is set on a moulded granite plinth.
