Description
The Ice House is a Grade II listed structure located in Holkham Park. It dates from the late 17th century and has undergone significant rebuilding. The building features an underground, bottle-shaped chamber made of brick, which is circular in plan. It has a steep conical roof that is thatched with reeds. The entrance is situated on the north side and is highlighted by a red brick crow-stepped gable. A barrel-vaulted passage leads into the chamber, covered by a steeply pitched thatched roof.
