Description

The Orangery at Holkham Hall is a structure built around 1850. It features a limestone construction with a three-bay pedimented center and recessed three-bay wings. Each bay is framed by Roman Doric pilasters that stand on bases, with a triglyph above each capital and an entablature that is broken forward at the parapet. The pediment includes a central oculus and is currently roofless and windowless. Inside, there is encaustic tiled paving. This building may be part of the South terrace designed by William Eden Nesfield around 1850.
