Description

The Obelisk is a square column made of limestone, standing 80 feet high, and was erected between 1729 and 1730. It is aligned with Holkham Hall and features vermiculated and rusticated base panels. The obelisk is situated at the highest point of the estate and was intended to mark the beginning of the construction of the Hall and Park.
