Description
Garden Cottage is a house dating from the late 18th century, likely designed by Samuel Wyatt. It is constructed from gault brick and features shingled roofs. The main block has a hipped roof, while the west wing has a gabled roof. The building is two storeys high and has sash windows with glazing bars and rubbed brick arches, along with some blank openings. A plain brick band runs along the first floor level. There are two chimney stacks on the ridge line and one on the west gable. The south facade consists of three bays, with the first and third bays slightly recessed. The central doorway is flanked by sidelights and is topped by an elliptical rubbed brick arch and a fanlight with radiating glazing bars. The entrance door on the north side is a central flush panelled door. There is also a 20th-century flat-roofed dormer in the west wing.
