Description
The Great Barn is a five-stead threshing barn built around 1790 by Samuel Wyatt, designed in a simple neo-classical style. It is constructed from gault brick and features slate roofs. The barn has a brick dentil eaves course and pedimented gables. On the east and west sides, there are four pedimented porches that indicate the locations of the two threshing floors. The barn includes large segmental-headed door openings with plain brick bands at the impost level. Surrounding the barn are one-storey lean-to workshops and stores, which have hipped roofs. High-level lunettes are present, some featuring honeycomb brick vents, along with circular brick ventilation openings in the gable pediments of the main roof.
