Description
18 and 20 George Street are semi-detached houses built around 1840. They are three storeys tall and constructed from coursed stone that imitates brick. The ground and first floors feature rusticated stucco quoins, while the ground floor has a stucco finish with banded rustication. The building has a stucco parapet cornice and frieze, with the parapet flanked by panelled piers on scrolled brackets topped with rounded caps.
The first and second floors have flat fronted bow windows with three lights each, and the ground floor features recessed sash windows that have later glazing bars. These windows are set beneath segmental moulded arches with keystones and have moulded imposts. The entrance has panelled doors situated in a joint entrance, which is flanked by Doric pilasters and topped with a shaped moulded arch that also has a keystone.
