Description
16 and 17 Simeon Street are semi-detached houses built around 1840. They are three storeys high and feature a stone facade designed to look like brick, with rubble sides and rendered quoins. The buildings have a shallow frieze and plinth, and a low-pitched hipped slate roof with overhanging eaves. Each house has one recessed sash window with intact glazing bars, broad rendered surrounds, and block sills. The first floor has flat fronted bow windows with three lights, also sash with intact glazing bars, and pilasters that extend down into a panelled apron. The moulded plinth, frieze, and cornice break slightly forward at the centre. There are single-storey entrance bays with parapets set back on the sides, featuring recessed panelled doors in plain cases.
