Description
22 Simeon Street is a building dating from around 1830. It is three storeys high and has a stucco facade. The gable end slate roof has concealed eaves and a moulded projecting cornice. The front features three recessed sash windows with intact glazing bars, architrave surrounds, and block sills. There are early superimposed bay windows on the west side at the ground and first floors, each with three lights, sash windows, glazing bars, fluted pilaster strips, a frieze and cornice extending to the sides, a panelled apron on the first floor, and a rendered base on the ground floor. The central door is recessed and has four panels, two of which are glazed, with splayed reveals and flanking shallow Doric pilasters that support an entablature. At the rear, there is a two-storey wing extending to the south, which is rough cast with a gable end slate roof and was originally stables; some of the doors still survive, and there is a continuous band over six bays. The first floor windows in this wing are blocked.
