Description

This is an early to mid-19th century, two-storey and basement building on Staplers Road. The front is stuccoed with flanking pilaster strips. It has a low-pitched slate roof with projecting eaves. There are three windows, with the central window in a slightly projecting bay. The ground floor windows are sash windows with three lights, set within stucco bay windows. The upper floor windows are sash windows without glazing bars, with plain block sills. A moulded cornice runs along the top of the front elevation. To either side of the front door, there are semi-circular areas, the left-hand one enclosed by a cast iron railing. The central recessed door is topped by a semi-circular fanlight. A three-storey wing is set back to the west, owing to the sloping site. This wing has two recessed sash windows with block sills, and horizontal bands between the storeys.
