Description

Nos 8 and 9 on High Street are mid-18th century brick buildings that stand two storeys tall and feature three windows, two of which are bay windows. The facade has rustication between the storeys, a small modillion cornice, and moulded bands. The panelled parapet is notable, and there are no glazing bars on the windows. The central door is recessed and has a simple fanlight with a round-headed architrave. No 9 has a mid-19th century door with a hood at one end and features a two-storey projection with a three-light sash window. Both buildings have tile-hung ends, and No 9, being the later addition, has a double-gabled end with brick bands that align with No 8. Nos 8 to 13 form an interesting group.
