Description
Pyle House is a late 18th century building located on the north side of Pyle Street. It is constructed of purple grey brick with red brick dressings and stands two storeys tall. The gable end slate roof features two dormers and has a shallow wood eaves cornice along with a block sill course. The façade includes five sash windows, which have no glazing bars and are framed with moulded flush wood, complete with block sills and flat brick arches.
The central entrance door consists of six fielded panels and is recessed, featuring reeded reveals and a doorcase adorned with reeded pilasters, a frieze, and a projecting cornice hood. To the west, there is a blind bay that includes a side door with four fielded panels, accessed by two steps down. Pyle House is part of a group with Nos 137 to 139, which are consecutive properties.
