Description
No 3 (Broadlands) on Staplers Road is an early 19th-century building that is set back and faces west towards Fairlee Road. It is two storeys high and constructed of painted stucco. The roof is low-pitched and hipped, covered with slate, and features projecting eaves with lion heads on the guttering. A two-storey wing extends to the north. The main block has two windows, one in a projecting bay and one in the north wing. The windows are recessed, sash style with glazing bars, block sills, and the ground floor window of the main block has Venetian shutters and a blind case. The recessed door in the projecting bay of the main block consists of four fielded panels and has a semi-circular fanlight with two glazed sections. There is also a door in the north wing, which is a mid-19th-century design featuring thin pilaster strips and a bracketed cornice hood.
