Description

38 Quay Street is an early 19th-century building that stands three storeys tall. It features a stucco exterior with a rusticated ground floor. The slate roof is concealed behind a cornice and parapet. The building has four windows, with the two central ones projecting slightly forward and being recessed. These windows are sash style with glazing bars, and the central two on the first floor originally had Venetian shutters and still have a small cast iron balcony. There are round-headed doorways on either side, one of which leads to a passage. The main house door is recessed and consists of three fielded panels, topped with a traceried fanlight. This property is part of a group that includes Nos 55 to 39 (consecutive) and 41.
