Description
These are circa 1840 semi-detached houses, tall and clearly intended as a pair. They are five storeys high, built with purple grey headers and red brick dressings, with slate-hung sides. The steep hipped roof is covered in slate, with a projecting wood eaves cornice. Each house originally had a single window, with recessed sash windows and glazing bars. The ground floor windows have flat red brick arches, while the first floor features rectangular bay windows of three lights; the bay window in number 19 has been modernised. The windows above have sash glazing bars. The windows have block sills and a shallow projecting cornice with a panelled apron. The central entrances are recessed and have paired doors, each with four fielded panels. Number 21 retains its original basket-handle arched fanlight with glazing bars, while number 19 has a modern replacement. The fanlights have moulded stucco imposts. Numbers 19 to 23 form a group.
