Description
This is a group of three pairs of semi-detached houses, located at Numbers 112-124 Hemingford Road in Islington, dating from around 1840. The houses are constructed of stock brick with low-pitched slate roofs, featuring projecting eaves and party wall stacks. Each property is three storeys high, with a basement level. They are arranged with a two-window facade. The windows are 6/6 sash windows. The ground floors have channelled stucco detailing, while the first floor windows are set within stucco surrounds. The doorways feature simple door cases with panelled doors and rectangular over-lights. Original cast-iron window-box holders are present on the ground floor windows, and on the first floor windows of Numbers 122-124. Matching cast-iron balconies are present at Numbers 112-118, and resemble those found at Numbers 104-110, reflecting a similar design approach. Original cast-iron railings with finials are also present.
