Description

A pair of houses built around 1825, located in Brunswick Square, Gloucester. They are part of a terrace and are constructed of brick with stuccoed frontages and slate roofs, featuring brick stacks on the party wall and chimney pots. The houses are arranged as a double-depth block with rear wings, and are mirror images of each other.

The exteriors have a coped parapet. The ground floors are fronted by entrance doorways accessed by stone steps with wrought-iron balustrades. Each doorway has a semicircular arched head, a fanlight, and a 6-panelled door. To the inner side of each doorway is a tall sash window with 3x4 panes of glazing bars. The first floor of number 8 has two tall sashes with 20th-century metal window guards; the second floor has two shorter sashes. The first floor of number 9 has two sashes; the second floor has two similar sashes, all with 3x4 pane glazing bars. They are set in plain openings with projecting stone sills. The interiors were not inspected.
