Description

These are a pair of semi-detached villas, built around 1837-42. They are constructed with stucco over brickwork and have Welsh-slate roofs with truncated hipped forms, dormers, and projecting eaves. Stucco chimney stacks are visible at the centre and ends of the buildings. The layout is symmetrical, with side-hall entrances in the outer bay of each property and mirror floor plans.

The villas are two storeys and have an attic, each with a two-window front. A prominent feature is the very broad, full-height bow window, which occupies much of the facade. This includes four-pane sashes with two-pane side lights, flanked by narrower blind windows on the ground and first floors. Above the entrances, an elaborate first-floor storey band extends horizontally to visually connect with the bow window. The ground floor entrances are sheltered by porches with square piers and an entablature. Each doorway has pilasters, a panelled door with side-lights, and a four-paned rectangular overhead light. First-floor windows are six-pane sashes above the entrances. A single dormer is positioned above each bow window.

Number 5 has a large wooden addition to the rear roof and a recessed brick extension to the right of the entrance. Number 6 features a two-storey stucco extension to the left of the entrance.
