Description
These are a pair of semi-detached villas built around 1837-42. They are constructed with stucco over brickwork and have Welsh slate roofs, including a truncated hipped roof and a truncated, half-domed roof over a large bow window. The eaves project, and there are stucco chimney stacks at the sides. A side-hall entrance is located in the outer bay of each villa.
Each villa is two storeys high and has two windows. A prominent full-height bow window, very broad in width, features four-pane sashes with two-pane side lights, flanked by narrower blind windows on both the ground and first floors. The ground-floor entrance is accessed via a porch with square piers and an entablature. The doorway is flanked by pilasters, and has a panelled door with side lights and a four-pane rectangular fanlight above. The entablature detailing of the porch continues horizontally to form an elaborate storey band on the first floor of the bow window. The first floor has six-pane sashes over the entrance. Number 3 has a single-storey extension to the right of the entrance. Number 4 has a wooden addition to the rear roof slope.
