Description

These are two semi-detached houses, built around 1840 to 1850. They have a slightly Gothic style. The houses are two storeys high and have a stucco (rendered) facade, with a plain base. They have a slate roof, with a grey brick chimney stack in the centre of the ridge, which has a decorative cornice. There is a thin cornice along the eaves. Each house has a projecting gabled bay at the front, with a heavy cornice over the ground floor that makes the first floor appear to be projecting. There is a blind (decorative) window in the recessed central section. The windows are two-light casements, with thin vertical and horizontal bars, and flat sills. The ground floor windows and the central blind window have drip moulds to protect them from the rain. The front doors are recessed, with panels and glass. Numbers 30 to 35 Simeon Street are grouped together as historically significant.
