Description

This is a villa dating from around 1840 to 1850. It is constructed with stone that has been cut to resemble brick, with rendered quoins. The villa has a decorative band below the first-floor windows and a plinth at ground level. It features a low-pitched slate roof with wide eaves. There are four windows, two of which are in a bow shape that extends through both floors to the east. The recessed sash windows retain their original glazing bars. The first-floor window surrounds are shouldered, and the ground-floor windows have block sills. The front door is panelled and features a semi-circular fanlight above, flanked by paired pilasters and a keystone that breaks up into a frieze, with a cornice projecting from the sill course. A flight of steps leads to the front door. The rendered parapets have copings and capped piers. The villa is part of a group with numbers 46 to 50A.
