Description

This is a villa dating from around the 1840s and 1850s. It is two storeys high with a basement, and is faced with stone that has been cut to resemble brick. The corners have rendered quoins, and the basement is stuccoed. The villa has a frieze, a moulded sill course with a frieze below, and a plinth. It features a low-pitched slate roof with wide eaves. There are four windows; two are arranged in a bow shape across both storeys to the east side. These windows have sash glazing bars which remain intact, broad rendered surrounds, and block sills to the ground floor. The entrance is to the west of the bow, and is similar to that of number 42, with a panelled door, a semi-circular fanlight, and paired pilasters flanking it. A keystone breaks up into the frieze, and a cornice projects from the sill course. A flight of nine steps leads to the entrance, with rendered parapets, copings, and capped piers. Numbers 46 to 50A form a group.
