Description
39 Melville Street is a villa built around 1840. It has two storeys and is covered in cement render. The roof is low-pitched and hipped, made of slate, with a narrow eaves cornice. The building features three windows, with the central one being blind. To the east, there are bay windows with three lights, which have sash windows with later glazing bars, plain strips, a frieze, and a cornice, along with a plain apron. The other windows are recessed sash windows with intact glazing bars and block sills. A prominent central porch is enclosed and raised on a plinth, featuring an entablature and a blocking course, with a panelled door that has small upper lights. There are two steps leading up to the door. Nos 35 to 39 form a group.
