Description
Delmonte is a villa, dating to the 1840s, and later divided into flats. It is prominently situated. The building has a double-depth, rectangular plan and a hipped slate roof with rendered stacks and cornices.
The main facade, with two windows, has deep eaves, an eaves band, a second-floor sill band, and a platband. A projecting three-bay porch block, the central bay set slightly forward, features paired pilasters flanking the doorway and supporting an entablature and pediment, although the doorway itself is a 20th-century addition. The bays on either side of the porch have moulded cornices below the parapet and two-pane sashes in pilastered architraves. A 20th-century addition extends from the porch block on the right. The first and second floors each have two windows; these are late 19th or 20th century sashes with four panes and Venetian blinds with wavy fascias. The first-floor windows have floating cornices on consoles. The left return, overlooking the harbour, has a similar three-bay front with a glazed-in verandah.
The interior has not been inspected, but may contain features of interest.
