Description
Dolforgan Westholme is a large villa, built around the 1860s, that has been divided into flats. The building is plastered with a slate roof and features stacks with rendered shafts and cornices. It has a double-depth rectangular plan with the entrance facing northwest.
The villa stands two storeys high with a basement and has deep eaves supported by paired eaves brackets, along with an eaves band and a platband. The entrance front has three bays, with a four-bay wing to the right. The centre bay of the entrance is slightly advanced and topped with a gable. The entrance features a pilastered doorway with a pediment supported by richly-moulded consoles, a moulded doorcase, an overlight, and glazed panels with margin panes. The windows have moulded architraves; two of the left-hand windows are blind, while the others are glazed with 12-pane sashes. A stucco wreath is located in the gable.
The right wing is plainer and gabled in the centre, with windows glazed with sashes. The left return has three bays, with tall ground floor windows that have moulded architraves and are glazed with 20th-century casements. The first-floor windows are 4-pane sashes featuring horizontal glazing bars and louvred shutters. The interior has not been inspected but may contain features of interest.
