Description

Lisburne is a villa built around the 1840s, with some alterations made in the 20th century. The building is plastered and features a slate roof, with stacks that have rendered shafts, platbands, and cornices. The villa has a double-depth main block facing south, with the entrance located on the east side and a service wing at the rear.

The exterior is two storeys high and has an asymmetrical three-window south front, which includes rusticated quoins and deep boxed eaves, along with an eaves band and platband. On the ground floor, the left window is a six-over-nine pane sash, the center window has been converted into a French window, and the right side features a canted bay with six-over-nine pane sashes. There are three bays of a trellis verandah that still exist, topped with a tent roof now covered in felt. The first floor has three windows; the outer ones are twelve-pane sashes with sill blocks and Venetian shutters, while the central sash has been reduced to eight panes.

The right side of the building has undergone changes since 1975. The main block has three bays, with the center bay projecting forward and gabled, featuring a flat-roofed porch with a dentil cornice and a reduced parapet, which is now accessed from the right side. There is a twelve-pane sash on the first floor with a pediment supported by brackets. The left bay has a blind first-floor window and a 20th-century single-storey addition, while the right bay includes twelve-pane sashes and a 20th-century door that has been inserted. The service wing is plainer and set back to the right.

Inside, the villa features joinery and plaster cornices, but the original staircase has been removed.
