Description

The gate piers and gate to Dunstone, likely built in the late 1860s, are located on Lower Warberry Road in Torquay. The gate piers are made of stucco and designed to resemble stone, featuring a square section with a chamfered plinth and stopped, moulded corners. They are topped with oversailing pyramidal caps that have rusticated detail. The gate itself is a fine example of late 19th-century craftsmanship, made from cast and wrought iron. It includes a lozenge frieze below the middle rail, with junctions adorned by cast-iron bosses. The verticals above the top rail are finished with stylized flower-shaped finials.
