Description
The gate piers and gates at the south entrance of Bishop's Court Hotel date from the mid-19th century and late 19th century, respectively. The gate piers are plastered and feature octagonal shapes with plinths, moulded recessed panels on each side, and oversailing caps topped with pinnacles that have ball finials. The gates, located further up the drive towards the hotel, are made of wrought iron and are hung from reeded posts that also have wrought-iron ball finials. The gates include wrought-iron arabesques in a central panel above the middle rail and feature a curved overthrow. These structures are included for their group value with the hotel.
