Description
The gate piers and gate to Kathleen Court, dating from the mid-19th century, are notable features of the property. The gate piers are rendered and have a square section with plinths, ovolo-moulded corners, and recessed moulded panels. A frieze of roundels is positioned below the oversailing moulded caps, which have stepped bases topped with ball finials. On either side, there are short sections of coped curved wall that feature sunk panels and end in similar piers. The stout timber gate is equipped with massive hinges, cross-bracing below the middle rail, and semicircular braces above. It also includes cast-iron standards with spear finials. This structure is included for its group value with Kathleen Court.
