Description
Firsleigh is a villa built around the 1870s, as it does not appear on the 1866 Ordnance Survey map. The building is cement-rendered with a slate roof and features stacks with rendered shafts and projecting cornices. It has a deep rectangular plan with the entrance on the east side and a service wing to the north.
The exterior is two storeys high and has an asymmetrical two-window front with a projecting tower on the left. The front features a gabled porch with deep verges supported by paired moulded brackets and pilasters on either side. The porch has paired pilasters and an entablature, with a dentil frieze below the cornice and blocking course. The outer doorway is round-headed and pilastered, with a moulded arch and keyblock, leading to a panelled door with a fanlight. Above the porch, there is a first-floor window with a segmental-headed, moulded, eared, shouldered architrave, glazed with a tripartite sash window featuring two-pane sashes.
The tower on the left has a deep hipped slate roof with sprocketed eaves, supported by corbelled moulded brackets. It also has round-headed first-floor windows with sill blocks, moulded architraves, and a continuous hoodmould. The garden elevation mirrors this style, featuring two deep gables and triple round-headed first-floor windows with keyblocks.
The interior has not been inspected but is reported to have a fine 19th-century interior.
