Description

Cintra is a villa dating from around 1850, located on Upper Braddons Hill Road, Torquay. The exterior is plastered, with a natural slate roof and rendered stacks topped with projecting cornices. The house has a double-depth plan, with two rooms wide and an entrance on the south-west side, and a rear service wing to the north.

The front facade is two storeys high with a deep overhang supported by paired, moulded brackets. It has a two-window front with a projecting, single-storey porch. The porch has a modillion cornice below the parapet and a square-headed doorway, although the roof of the porch is now missing. A panelled front door is set within the doorway, and there are 12-pane sash windows. A ramped screen wall leads to the service yard on the left. The right return features ground-floor French windows. A veranda, mentioned in a 1975 description, was absent when the building was surveyed. The interior has not been inspected, but may contain features of interest.
