Description

No. 54 Spencer Road is a building dating from around 1840 to 1850. It is three stories tall and has a stone facade designed to look like brick. The exterior features flanking incised patterned pilasters, a frieze, and a plinth. The roof is a low-pitched hipped slate roof with wide eaves. At the center of the ridge, there is a square wooden belvedere with round-headed lights and a hipped roof. The building has three recessed sash windows without glazing bars, which have plain rendered surrounds and consoles supporting the sills of the second-floor windows. The Doric pilastered porch has been glazed and altered. This property is part of a group that includes No. 44 and Nos. 50 to 54 (even) along with Nos. 58 and 60.
