  1. Circa 1830. Three storeys painted brick. Hipped slate roof eaves hidden by parapet and rendered moulded cornice. Two recessed sash windows to second floor, glazing bars, block sills, flat brick arches. First floor has bay windows of three lights, sash, later glazing bars, plain strips, moulded sill, panelled apron hipped slate roof added. Early C20 shop front.

No 1 the Esplanade forms a group with Nos 1 & 1A Union Street. Also No 1 & Nos 3 to 14 (consec) form a group.
