Description
No 2A on Union Street is a corner building dating from the early 19th century, featuring two fronts and a rounded section between them. It is part of No 1 Castle Street. The building has three storeys and a symmetrical design with two windows facing Union Street and Castle Street, respectively, along with a curved section that has one window. The Castle Street front includes an additional window bay that is set back. Constructed of yellow brick, the top floor is finished in stucco. There is a cornice above each floor and a parapet. The building has long and short quoins at the corners of the symmetrical section. Notably, the first floor on the Union Street side features a flattened bow window with three lights, separated by pilasters and topped with a cornice. The glazing bars above the ground floor are intact. This building is part of a group that includes Nos 1 to 13 (consecutive) and No 15, as well as Nos 1, 1A, and 2 Castle Street.
