Description
Vale House is a small villa built around 1830 or 1840. It is two storeys high and has a stucco facade, flanked by pilasters on the sides as well. There is a band between the storeys and a shallow frieze. The roof is a low pitch hipped slate design with wide eaves.
On the first floor, there are three windows, one of which is a three-light bay window. The ground floor features two recessed sash windows, except for one casement window. The windows have later glazing bars and block sills, with flanking pilasters on the first-floor windows, except for the bay window. The bay window has sash windows with later glazing bars, fluted strips, a cornice, and a panelled apron.
The doorway is enclosed by a Victorian porch that has frosted glazing and a modillion cornice above it. The original entablature of the doorway rises above the level of the porch.
