Description
Anglesey Lodge is a villa dating from approximately 1830 to 1840, built with a stucco facade. The front elevations feature a narrow, centrally recessed bay, flanked by breaks with deep, eaved pedimented gables. A plain frieze band runs below the flat eaves. Windows in the flanking breaks are tripartite sashes with glazing bars, and delicate anthemion-pattern iron balconies. A central first-floor round-headed French window provides access to a balcony above the doorway. The south elevation has three windows, sashes in reveals with intact glazing bars, and is sheltered by a two-story trellis verandah. A wing was added to the west in the early 20th century. Internally, the property retains a semi-circular staircase and stairwell, as well as an open-string staircase with a wreathed handrail.
