Description
Simpson House is a former villa built around 1830-1850. It is two storeys high, constructed of brick and faced with stucco, featuring a low pitch hipped slate roof and deep flat eaves supported by paired modillion brackets. The entrance front has light horizontal grooving on the ground floor, accented by a flat band. There are three widely spaced windows with recessed sashes that retain their glazing bars. The broad central entrance has a door with six moulded panels and an elliptical fanlight, which includes an inverted looped fan and a circular glazing pattern, flanked by inset reeded columns. On the west side, there are two windows, one of which is a full-length window on the ground floor with marginal glazing and delicate tracery. Additionally, there is a lean-to window addition on the east side, featuring a sloping fretted board at the eaves.
