Description

The Forge is an early 19th-century building located on Simpson Road. It is a two-storey structure made of painted brick, featuring a longer north front. The building has a low slate roof with brick dentil eaves. On the south front, there is one window, which is a three-light camber-arched wooden casement, along with plain doors. The north front of The Forge has three windows, which are similar casements to those on the south front. The Forge is included for its group value in relation to the nearby church. It forms a group with Nos 187, 189, The Church of St Thomas, The Forge, and No 436.
