No 48 on New Street is an early 19th-century building with a facade made of painted brick. It features a deep brick eaves band and a slate roof. The building is two storeys high and has two windows, with early 19th-century casements and a three-light sash window on the ground floor. There is a central door, and the eastern end includes a carriageway entrance that is flanked by fluted pilasters, with a blank panel above.
