Description
25 and 27 New Street are a pair of late 18th century houses that are symmetrical in design. They are constructed from silver grey brick with red brick detailing, including bands between the floors and rubbed red brick around the windows. The houses feature a moulded wooden cornice and have a hipped roof covered with old tiles. The buildings stand three storeys tall and have four bays, which consist of two windows and end panels on the first and second floors. The windows are triple light sash windows with glazing bars. Each house has a good six-panelled door with a rectangular fanlight set within moulded architraves. These houses are part of a group that includes Nos 1 to 33 (odd) and Nos 2 to 76 (even) opposite, as well as the walls associated with Nos 32 to 38 (even) and No 40.
