Description
Elizabeth Cottage is an 18th-century building located on New Street. It is constructed of silver grey brick with red brick dressings and features a steeply pitched, old tiled roof. The cottage has two storeys and two gabled dormers, with a total of four windows, one of which is blank on the west side of the first floor. The windows are sashes with moulded frames and glazing bars, including one with late 19th-century glazing. A three-light sash window has replaced a former arch or shop window on the west side of the ground floor. The central entrance consists of a six-panelled door, with the top two panels glazed, and is topped by a flat hood.
Elizabeth Cottage, along with Nos 1 to 33 (odd) on the same side of the street, forms a group with Nos 2 to 76 (even) opposite, including the walls associated with Nos 32 to 38 (even) and No 40.
